The Performing Arts School at bergenPAC offers a variety of summer programs, featuring unique opportunities to explore music, theater and dance. Multiple sessions run during July and August. The school’s mission of providing a complete and all-inclusive education for youths in the area is realized through the diverse set of course offerings in conjunction with the enthusiasm of teachers, staff and students involved in the learning process.

Musical Theater Camp
This program is for children ages 5-12 and features theater games, dance combinations, choreography, music appreciation, singing, acting the song, visual arts, and much, much more. With a final showcase on the bergenPAC main stage, every child will feel like a star!
 
Evening Open Dance Classes
Students of all ages can keep their dance skills sharp over the summer by taking one or up to seven classes a week. These classes target beginner and intermediate level dancers looking to continue to work on their skills over the summer break.
 
Dance Intensive
beyondDANCE offers two 2-week dance intensives for ages 10-17, led by artistic director, roberta mathes. These are ideal for dancers who wish to improve their technical abilities, gain more confidence and a deeper understanding of their potential in a short amount of time. Curriculum includes classes in ballet, contemporary/ improvisation, modern jazz and Ethnic or African dance. Classes are taught by the school’s professional faculty and guest artists from New York City. If not currently enrolled in beyondDANCE, placement classes are available before June 1.
 
Early Stars
Early Stars is an early childhood music program that provides developmentally appropriate music for infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers. This geared towards kids age 3 month to 4∏ years with a parent or caregiver. The music program uses a mix of traditional and contemporary songs from around the world to bring out the innate musical nature of young children during 45-minute sessions.
 
Hip Hop Explorers
This unique summer intensive offers students ages 8 to 18 a chance to delve into the five elements of Hip Hop culture. Led by Hip Hop performer and educator, Sheikia Purple Haze Norris, students will explore DJing, MCing, graffiti, breakdancing and beatboxing and learn the history and culture of this art movement that originated in the 1970s. The camp will culminate with a final performance where the students present their work to friends and family.
