Foghat
with Opening Act Dana Fuchs
Event Details
Foghat celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2021, and their live performances show why the band is still around and why they will be able to keep on rockin’ as long as they want to play!
Their music is timeless, and touring is part of their DNA. Foghat’s live show is as intense as ever with the incredible energy and musicianship that one would expect and hope for from a seasoned band with such a long musical history and they are bringing their fans along for the ride. These guys just love to play!
Formed in 1971 when Lonesome Dave Peverett & Roger Earl left the British blues-rock band, Savoy Brown, Foghat has earned eight Gold records, one Platinum record and one Double-Platinum record. They have never stopped touring and recording although there have been several ups and downs and changes over the years. They sadly lost Lonesome Dave Peverett in 2000 and Rod Price in 2005, but Roger Earl kept banging & kicking to keep Foghat’s musical legacy going.
If Foghat had only given us ‘Slow Ride’, the band’s place in rock history would be secure. But the band is so much more than that. As stated by Roger Earl, “we are still a ‘work in progress’, writing and recording and plan to be until the day we depart this earth.”
The band has started work on yet another Blues/Rock Studio Album to be released in late 2022! So, stay tuned, you cannot keep these boys down!
Opening Act: Dana Fuchs
Dana Fuchs is one of the most coveted blues rock stars in the world today. A singer whose hypnotic voice and presence, has led critics to compare her to Janis Joplin, Otis Redding and Mick Jagger. Dana's records all receive fantastic reviews, and she has consistently been in the top 10 on the world's most important sales list - Billboard in the USA. Dana stars as Sadie in ‘Across the Universe’, nominated for Best Picture at the Golden Globe Awards.
Today, Dana returns to her Southern Rock roots and her home label, Ruf Records to deliver the rawest, rockingest, musical offering of her album-making career. With this release, Borrowed Time, we are treated to a deliciously dangerous collection of incredible songs and lyrics that run the gamut from barn-burning rockers to tear-jerking ballads, and we find Dana, the singersongwriter, at the top of her game, a master of her craft, supported by a cast of dangerous musicians who have managed to capture the tornado in a bottle intensity, urgency, power, restraint and passion of Dana's live show on a studio album. Produced by Bobby Harlow at Black River House, nestled in rural Croswell. MI, a midwestern factory town that provided the ideal setting for Dana to unleash her American roots, rock, soul.
With songs that emphasize support and sisterhood during times of struggle, Borrowed Time is an album for the present, inspired by the incendiary music of the past. "This marks the beginning of Chapter 2, in music as well as in life," says Fuchs. "I'm going out into the world and writing about the people who share it with me. My own story is always going to be in there, too, but this is the first album where other people's stories are informing my own emotions." Get ready for a rockin' ride! Dana Fuchs | Borrowed Time available everywhere now on Ruf Records (April 29, 2022).
